Alia Virjee, MScFN, RD
Consulting Registered Dietitian
Alia is a Registered Dietitian with a love for home cooking and a soft spot for chocolate chip cookies. She believes that food, and the nutrients it offers, are the foundation for a healthy and functional body and mind. She also believes that food is delicious! And it can stay that way, even while we make lifestyle changes to achieve our best health. As a teenager, Alia saw family members diagnosed with heart disease and started to learn more about lifestyle changes that can act as effective prevention and treatment strategies. These experiences lead her down the path toward nutrition and she hasn’t looked back!
Alia holds an undergraduate degree in Foods and Nutrition (BSc) as well as a Master of Science in Foods and Nutrition (MScFN) from Western University. She has years of experience in environments ranging from rural to urban, helping hundreds of people to achieve their goals. She relies on the trusted relationship between herself and her clients to collaboratively set realistic goals for positive lifestyle change. Her motivational counselling style focuses on you! Finding your balance and creating tailored care plans that work for you and your life.
Over the years she has had the opportunity to work with clients using evidence-based research to improve their cholesterol, blood sugar levels, allergies and more. In recent years, Alia has worked extensively with parents of picky eaters and children with other complications such as failure to thrive, pica and more. Alia is a new mom herself and loves engaging with pregnant and post-natal women working toward having healthy pregnancies, recovery from birth and weight loss.
Alia’s specialties include:
- Paediatric Nutrition (weight, failure to thrive, picky eaters, iron deficiency etc.)
- Nutrition for pregnancy (pre and post-natal)
- Weight Loss

- Chronic disease prevention (heart disease, cholesterol, IBS etc.)
